Simon Spire, MA, MSW, LCSWA

DEPTH-ORIENTED, CONTEMPLATIVE, AND SOMATIC PSYCHOTHERAPIST

As a licensed psychotherapist (LCSWA) in North Carolina, I partner with adults of all ages who are seeking psychotherapy within a transformative setting that’s able to hold the fullness of who they are and the larger arc of their path. I describe my approach as depth-oriented, contemplative, and somatic. Terms such as mindfulness-based and experiential could also apply. But more than that, I call it soulcentric. Why? Because the word soul points to the deeper dimensions of one’s life. It evokes the rich, often hidden currents running through our lives and orients us toward our ever-unfolding genuine nature and authentic path. Within such a setting, there is room for all facets of who you are, for the wholeness of your humanity, and for exploring the underlying layers of your current experience. Here we can discover that by coming into relationship with the felt and implicit levels of our experience in a supported and guided space, the way is opened for true shifts, healing, and emergence. If you resonate with the idea of therapy that is in service not only to navigating your present experiences and challenges, but also to recognizing the present edges as opportunities for coming into contact with the deeper currents of your life and your unfolding, then I would love to accompany you through what is emerging on your path.

I bring to my work 20 years of studying and living a soulcentric, contemplative path throughout the trajectory of my adult career and 10 years of working with individuals and groups in counseling and facilitation roles. I believe healing and insight are always available, always waiting, if allowed the right conditions and space. I believe every wound, block, or trauma has its natural movement toward integration if given the right support. And I believe every latent capacity, opening, and knowing within us has its natural movement toward emergence. I like to say that life is always inviting us further into conversation with the depths of who we are, with what’s wanting to emerge or shift or heal, and with what is being called forth in us by our larger relationship with the world. It is important to me that my work is able to meet those who feel drawn toward what might be described as a transformative passage, an initiatory or soulcentric journey, or a path of contemplation or awakening awareness. Ultimately, I endeavor to support people in increasingly discovering and living from their inherent freedom and wholeness and from a place of deepening purpose, soulful alignment, and intimacy with life.

If you’re drawn to the idea of allowing what arises in your life to become fuel for your journey and for responding to the whispers of your soul, I would love to explore working together. We will establish a container that supports you in navigating what’s emerging on your path, tending to what seeks your awareness while honoring the natural pace of your rhythm. Together, we can recognize that there is no place you should be other than the process you’re currently in, and that by honoring the process that is seeking to unfold and coming into relationship with it, you can align with the unfolding of your wholeness, your wisdom, and the heart of your journey.

I am currently seeing clients in person and via telehealth. Soulcentric Psychotherapy, PLLC, is a newly established, independent private practice, and I am happily seeing new clients.
