Lyrics – Liberate Your Love

{ words & music by Simon Spire }

I have seen the centuries of

Glimmers soaked in frightened dreams

Of stooping underneath the rooftops

Hiding beneath the canopy

*

To block out all the light, easier to close our eyes

Live and die in the shadows of night

And tie down the mystery in the name of certainty

But tell me, when do we decide to shine?

*

Do we even know what this light is all for?

Do we even know that this time is all ours?

I know how to fly and I know how to fall I can’t

Bear to deny it anymore

*

And I have watched the wasted years of

Walking within the city walls

Of enemies and cannonballs

Never to fly for the fear of falling

*

But we have waited too long in the shadows

All the safe rides never going where we belong

And I’m gonna let my song fly in front of me

And if I fall it won’t be in the place I was born

*

Do we even know what this light is all for?

Do we even know that this time is all ours?

I know how to fly and I know how to fall I can’t

Bear to deny it anymore

*

So liberate your love

Obliterate it all

Open up your eyes and see

Become who you were born to be

Liberate your love

Turn it all to dust

Step out of the shadows

Nothing else is needed but the moment we can sing it out

*

Do we even know what this light is all for?

Do we even know that this time is all ours?

I know how to fly and I know how to fall I can’t

Bear to deny it anymore

  3. That song absolutely rocks!

Just after it was released I obtained it through the record company to air on my low power FM radio station.

I now also have it on my personal iPod and listen to it a lot.

It has a great rhythm, lots of energy, a nice melody and good rock sound to it. All ties in very well and is a great song to crank up really LOUD!

Please write more songs like this 🙂
